A rising talent on New Zealand's homegrown music scene, L.A. Mitchell released her first album, Debut, in 2007. This collection of seductive soul and jazz was followed up in 2008 with Live at the Matterhorn, an album of original music spliced with new tracks and reinterpretations of classics.

As well as supporting soul legend Stevie Wonder on his recent New Zealand tour, the singer/songwriter has performed alongside The Black Seeds and Nathan Haines, and is a member of both Dave Dobbyn's band and The Dukes.
