Jazz at St Peter’s: Lisa Tomlins Quartet – Mad About Dinah

A lot can be said about Dinah Washington’s turbulent lifestyle, whether it be her multiple marriages or her untimely death at the age of 39. Yet her inimitable singing style is what Dinah is most remembered for. Her ability to ‘get inside’ a song, no matter the genre, gave her multiple distinctions, including being the first woman to perform in Las Vegas and induction into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Performing amid the wonderful acoustics of St Peter's, the Lisa Tomlins Quartet (with Lisa on vocals, Dan Yeabsley on saxophone, Chris Yeabsley on organ and Darren Matthiassen on drums) bring you Dinah’s most famous tunes, including Mad About the Boy, Evil Gal Blues and the quintessential What a Diff’rence a Day Makes.
